In many organisations, data security is of crucial importance. In Total Enterprise CRM, you can completely tailor the security to meet your needs.

Roles

A role is a named group , for example "Telemarketers", "Marketing Team", "Admin Team", "Customer Support". You can define what users in each of these groups are allowed to do in very flexible ways - and simply adding a user to a role will set the permissions based on those rules.

Groups (teams)

Users can be added to teams, and you can make as many teams as you want. You can then set the viewing rule for each module to control data access:

All Data - User can see everything
My Data - User can see records that are assigned to them
My Group Data - User can see records that are assigned to anyone in their team.

Module level security

Top level modules, like the opportunity module or calendar module can be activated or de-activated for users in a particular role. For example, you may not want your telemarketing team to have access to the "Admin" module, or the Accounts module.

As before, the security is configured at the Role level (though nothing is stopping you from creating a role for each user if you wanted) - meaning it can be set up once, and applied to any or all of your users.

Button level security

Individual buttons in the CRM can be disabled depending on role. For example, you can deny most of your team the ability to delete or re-assign records, preserving this capability for users in the "Supervisor" role.

You can even implement field level security - for example, only users in the "Credit Manager" role are able to look at a customer's Credit file.
